Principal's Message
Dear Families:
For our returning students, welcome back to Berger-Vandenberg School and to our new students, welcome. We are truly honored to be the Principal and Assistant Principal of this amazing school!
The children at Berger-Vandenberg have great potential, and it requires every individual in their lives to purposefully work together for their success. We believe that close cooperation between our school and your home is essential for your child’s education experience because we believe that “no significant learning occurs without a significant relationship” (Comer, 2004). Children are born with inquiring minds, and we must be committed to nurturing that innate sense of inquiry by providing them with quality and engaging opportunities to learn.
Our staff are so eager to receive your child(ren) and provide them the best possible educational experience. This year, our school wide theme is “ Learning is a Journey to a Destination…Know, Grow, Show, Go.” Encompassed in our theme is setting goals, moving towards them, evaluating progress, and celebrating accomplishments.
We look forward to seeing all of our children on Monday, August 29, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am. and ending at 12:00 pm (which is a “half-day” of school). The First “FULL” Day of School is Tuesday, August 30, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am. and ending at 3:30 pm. Due to COVID safety protocols, students will not be permitted to enter the building until 8:50 a.m. Students will be served breakfast in their classrooms after arriving to school.
If you have any questions, please call the school office. We feel that open and clear communication between school and home is important to the success of our educational program. We look forward to working with you and your child(ren) for a wonderful, productive school year filled with rich academic experiences supported by highly effective instructional strategies!
With Excellence in Education,
Principal, Nicole Taylor and Assistant Principal, Danielle Franklin
