Dear New Beginnings Learning Academy Families,
Welcome Back to the New 2022-23 School Year! To our new parents and students, I am excited and humbled to have you as a part of the New Beginnings Learning Academy family. To our returning parents and students, it is with pleasure that I look forward to seeing your beautiful faces as we resume a new school year at NBLA, Dolton School District #149. Together with ALL stakeholders (students, staff, parents and community members), we will strive to work hard to strengthen NBLA’s status as a unique, instructional, rigorous, and delightful learning environment. We were faced with some challenges last year due to the continuous of COVID 19; however, we will not be overpowered by anything trying to interfere with the education of our youth this year!
Summer has come and gone and now we are delighted to inform you that we enjoyed a wonderful in person summer program without incident. The staff at NBLA is eager to welcome back ALL students for the 2022-23 full in person learning. Please know that the health and safety of our students, families, and educators remain our priority. NBLA continues to modify and make changes to our building facility (classroom, lunchroom, bathrooms, hand washing, etc…) via signage guidelines according to the policies and procedures mandated by the Illinois Government and the District. We are aware that it is your choice of masks for your child; however, we highly recommend the best choice for the continuation of SAFETY Daily! Remember, it is important that we maintain a safe environment for ALL!
Our mission at New Beginnings Learning Academy is to provide a nurturing, safe, orderly, and engaging instructional experience for every child in which they will grow and learn to become successful members of the community. The demands and complexities of educating children are increasing day by day, therefore it is evident and pertinent that we work together to develop their young minds to ensure that they reach their full potential and become productive citizens of society. Accountability is important with a continuing focus of Purpose, Practice, and Performance!” We Believe…that WE can overcome any obstacle at any time, therefore we will continue to challenge our students to grow in their academic abilities and be 21st Century College and Career ready for their future.
As an educational family, We Believe with your assistance and cooperation we will be able to move forward to continue to attain the highest level of success. The gifts and talents that our students display, combined with the dedication and passions of our teachers, allow us to strive for excellence. By working together, students, parents/guardians, and staff can make New Beginnings Learning Academy an enjoyable and great place to learn! Hence, we are dedicated this year to continue with this new platform of “Level Up” at NBLA, because we are continuing to Dream Big to be Champions …so Gear Up, Get Ready, Game On!” As stakeholders in the SD#149 community (students, parents, and teachers), our bonds will continue to be stronger, as we provide a positive experience for all families. If WE can continue to strive for excellence and work together as an extended family, we can change the mindset and continue to progress in the right direction for success. Therefore, we invite you to join us in this vision of growth and mission of empowering our children for this upcoming school year!
In an effort to move in the right direction for student learning, the 2022-23 First Day of School is a “Half Day” Monday, August 29, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am. and ending at 12:00 pm. The First “FULL” Day of School is Tuesday, August 30, 2022, beginning at 9:00 am. and ending at 3:30 pm. It is with great expectation that all students begin the year most importantly with a big smile, a great attitude and behavior, uniforms, dreams and goals and the intent to be prepared to get ready and move the level up! The continued support of All Team members is essential to ensuring we have on-going success with our goal of academic growth for every student. Please Remember, “It Takes a Village…and WE are “Leveling Up!”
We are also pleased to inform you that Dolton School District #149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for 2022-2023 school year. Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
School District #149 is sponsoring a “Lotta Poolza” Back to School Carnival on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11:00 am. until 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you come out and enjoy the fun filled festivities for the children before school starts! See you there!
Throughout the year our district/school website www.sd149.org, calendars, and newsletters, will provide you with the most current information. As new situations may occur, we will strive to offer support and calmness under any uncertainty you may feel. It will be a wonderful day when we meet face to face and celebrate, once again, the greatness of our Warriors at New Beginnings Learning Academy.
