Principal's Message
Dear SOFA Parents, Families, and Friends,
Welcome to the 2022 – 2023 school year. We are glad that you are joining us, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased academic expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal at the School of Fine Arts that all graduates are college or career ready without exception.
The School of Fine Arts is committed to providing a safe, collaborative and dynamic learning community that empowers and challenges our students to become 21st Century lifelong learners. Our theme is “LEVEL UP ” ~ which means we are striving to advance to the next level in all aspects of education to gain lifelong success. Together, we will create a sense of oneness and make every effort to show each individual student how important they are. As we continue to focus on the whole child, including attendance, and attitude, we will also continue to provide students with opportunities to address social emotional needs, academic deficiencies and to build numeracy and literacy skills.
We are happy to announce this year we have a new superintendent, Dr. Maureen White. The newness within the district will bring about new initiatives and changes that are welcomed. You are invited to explore our district’s new website at www.doltonsd149.org to find out more about curriculum, programs, and daily events throughout the district.
We are also pleased to inform you that Dolton School District 149 will continue the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, for 2022-2023 school year. Schools that participate in CEP are able to provide healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at no charge for all students enrolled in that CEP school.

We want to create a culture of respect for ourselves, our peers, our school, and our community. Through our commitment to our students and a strong sense of integrity, we know that this will be a special year of growth, development and academic achievement for our children. Let’s Level Up for Success!!!!!
